about

This song was written in the early part of 2009, as we were touring the Northeast, by Chris Roberts and me. We recorded it some months later, while in the process of demoing songs for another deal. I recorded a version for my 2013 disc "Eat, Drink, Sing", but can't help hearing OFS on this poignant track.

lyrics

Should we say goodbye
When we say hello
Like the winter wind we blow right through
And off we go
The time we reach for
Is the time we need I know
And nothing new gets old, Living Slow

Thought we tied the knot
Somehow we worked it loose
Running in two directions
Chasing a golden goose
The time we're needing
Sits forever close
And nothing new gets old, Living Slow

Mama used to say true love's what you need
To rest your weary mind
So lets turn back the clock
Shut the damn thing off
And slow things down tonight

Let's take a long deep breath
When we hug I hold
To the deepest place inside where we're joined
Soul to soul
Like clouds in big sky
We softly float on home
And nothing new gets old, Living Slow
No, nothing new gets old, Living Slow
