about

This is a song I wrote with my good friend Sarah Majors; very meaningful, and honest. On harmony vocals are the other members of One Flew South, Royal Reed and Chris Roberts.

lyrics

We wore warpaint, sweat, and pride
Behind our warrior faces we'd hide
We stood silent, heads held high
And watched the world we made just die

Now I feel like I'm stuck on a tiny piece of land out in New Mexico
With only memories of days we walked in fields of gold
I'm living but lost my life in a place that's not my home
Where the buffalo don't roam

I can't change history
I couldn't change you
Can't replace the space you filled if I wanted to
We were perfect, life is cruel
And I can't go back to the life I knew

Now I feel like I'm stuck on a tiny piece of land out in New Mexico
With only memories of days we walked in fields of gold
I'm living but lost my life in a place that's not my home
Where the buffalo don't roam

Spirits dance in desert dust
The wind carries what's left of us...

And I feel like I'm stuck on a tiny piece of land out in New Mexico
With only memories of days we walked in fields of gold
I'm living but lost my life in a place that's not my home
Where the buffalo don't roam
